Ashbury SatCom - Using iSatPhone

• Note your position relative to the satellite (the satellite is located in the centre of the coverage area, as indicated on the coverage map). Stand in an open area, free from obstructions such as buildings, trees or mountains.
• Switch the phone on. When prompted to enter a PIN, The ISatPhone default PIN is 8888.
• Raise the antenna and point it in the direction of the satellite. The ISatPhone now searches for the satellite automatically. As the search progresses, monitor the screen until the signal bars indicate good signal strength (at least two bars), and the full circle symbol turns solid black. Wait until SAT is displayed (this may take up to 2 minutes). The ISatPhone is now ready to make a call. The screen must display the full circle symbol and SAT before you can receive an incoming call.

• To make a call: Use the international number format of 00 or +, followed by the country code, area code (without the leading zeros) and telephone number. Keep the antenna pointed at the satellite during the call.
• Inmarsat recommends you use the supplied hands free unit to make and receive calls. This makes it easier for you to keep the antenna pointed in the direction of the satellite.
• If you walk and talk while on a call, the ISatPhone will retain the signal, provided you keep the antenna pointing in the direction of the satellite.
